Rutgers Executive MBA Launch Program
Remarks by Ambassador Patricia Herbold
June 6, 2007
Thank you, David. It is my pleasure to be in this beautiful building in the heart of Singapore this evening to celebrate the launch of Rutgers Executive MBA program.
In support of Singapore’s vision of becoming the education hub of Asia, it is also my pleasure to welcome one of America’s most distinguished universities to Singapore.
As the United States’ 8th oldest university, Rutgers boasts a longstanding tradition of academic excellence. The Rutgers Executive MBA will continue this tradition here in Singapore, bringing together business leaders from around the world in a global classroom experience.
Recently, the Swiss business school IMD named the United States and Singapore as the world’s two most competitive economies. Both our countries recognize the value of supporting our economic interests with top-tier business education programs. In today’s competitive global economy, executive education is increasingly important – even vital – for business leaders. The Rutgers EMBA program in Singapore is tailored for busy executives, and is based in one of the world’s most vibrant business environments.
I congratulate you on the successful launch of the EMBA program. This marks a milestone for Rutgers, and the primary beneficiaries will be the future cohorts of business leaders who will learn from Rutgers’ distinguished faculty, as well as the companies that employ the graduates.
I would now like to introduce the Rutgers Business School Director of International Programs, Dr. Isaac Gottlieb. He will tell us about the Rutgers Executive Business School plans for the coming year.
