Signing Ceremony between Colorado Technical University and Georgia Southern University and Arium Education (Singapore)

President Mitchell, Dr. Chang, Dr. Means, Ms. Lee, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen. I’m always delighted to participate in events in which American businesses and educational organizations are coming to Singapore, so I’m very happy to be here with you this afternoon to witness the signing of agreements between the Arium School of Arts and Sciences and two American universities: Colorado Technical University and Georgia Southern University.
Education is vital to successful growth and maintaining a sustainable economy. The graduates of the programs that will emanate from today’s agreements will provide intellectual capital necessary for business and industry to continue to grow.
Since 2003, working with accredited American universities, the Arium School of Arts and Sciences delivers high quality, up-to-date, certificate, diploma and degree programs to Singaporean and international students. Arium’s innovative programs with Colorado Tech and Georgia Southern will allow students to start their studies in Singapore and complete their degrees either by distance learning or by transferring directly to a campus in the United States for one or two years.
Established in 1965, Colorado Technical University is a multi-campus institution that offers a wide range of degree programs that are available online and at five campuses located throughout Colorado and the Midwest. Colorado Tech degree programs are very career focused and include résumé-enhancing Academic Certificates which students earn incrementally as they progress through their chosen course of study, providing students with a sense of accomplishment as they learn, and adding meaningful credentials that can distinguish these students from others in today’s fiercely competitive job market.
Georgia Southern University, which was founded a century ago, is rich in tradition and renowned for offering internationally competitive undergraduate and graduate degree programs. International students from over 80 countries come to Georgia Southern for a variety of reasons, but most often because of its reputation for academic excellence and its very affordable price. The University is designated as a Carnegie Doctoral Research University, a distinction of quality and prestige.
I’m pleased to be here to witness the signing of these partnership agreements between Arium and Colorado Tech and Georgia Southern. I am confident that they will bring attractive new online and classroom learning options to students in Singapore and around the world. I wish you every success. Thank you.
