The Regional Security Officer (RSO) manages the security program for the U.S. Embassy and its employees. The RSO is the anti-terrorism, procedural, technical and counterintelligence authority at the Embassy. The RSO is also a U.S. federal law enforcement officer and works closely with the Singapore Police on investigative matters. As the Technical Advisor to OSAC, the Overseas Security Advisory Council, a service for U.S. companies which provides threat information and for business travelers, the RSO provides briefings and advice on security matters.
