Non-Immigrant Visas

Other Types of Visas

Other types of visas which are occasionally requested in Singapore include visas for official travel, visas for special employment, visas for fiancees, and visas for family members of refugees and asylees living in the United States.

Official visas

A Visas: Visas for Officials of Foreign Governments and their dependents
G Visas: Visas for Employees of Official Organizations (such as the U.N.) and their dependents

The visa types listed above require that the applicants be sponsored by the government of their home countries or employing countries or by a recognized international organization. Your sponsoring organization will provide the documents and guidance you need to prepare your application.

In many (but not all) cases, the interview requirement can be waived for applicants in the A or G categories. Please contact the Singapore Consular section at SingaporeCON@state.gov with any questions about an application in this category.

Special Employment Visas

D Visas: Visas for Crewmen
O Visas: Visas for Persons of Extraordinary Ability
P Visas: Visas for Athletes, Artists, and Entertainers
R Visas: Visas for Religious Occupations

Each of the visa types listed above has specific and detailed requirements, and require that the applicant be sponsored by a qualifying company, non-profit organization, or educational or religious institution. Your sponsoring organization will provide the documents and guidance you need to prepare your application.

For general information about these categories and the documents needed, please see the non-immigrant visa section of the U.S. Department of State’s Consular Affairs website.

Once you have received the documents from your company follow the instructions here to apply.
