Singapore’s Office of Public Affairs (OPA) conducted a presentation for Black History Month on February 15, 2007, at American Connections partner Jurong Regional Library. The talk compared the lives of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X and used historical primary sources to demonstrate the similarities and differences between the two civil rights leaders. After the lecture, a lively question-and-answer session covered a variety of issues, from testing the veracity of historical evidence to what might have happened had the two men not been assassinated.
