The cornerstone of our bilateral relationship is the warm friendship and mutual respect that Singaporeans and Americans have for each other. Americans have been part of the Singapore scene for over 150 years, and it seems we bring out the best in each other. Today, over 5,000 Singaporeans are working or studying in the United States, while the 20,000 Americans here in Singapore contribute to its rich social and cultural life.

Whether one looks at economic policy and trade, educational exchanges, or working together against terrorism, the Singapore-American connection is strong and mutually beneficial.
