The U.S. Coast Guard Detachment in Singapore is composed of seven Coast Guard Officers and oversees various missions. Detachment personnel act as liaison with the various Singapore Maritime Agencies, U.S. Federal Agencies and a multitude of International Maritime Representatives at the world's busiest port.
Responsibilities: Conduct inspections of U.S. flagged vessels that are repaired and/or operate in Asia; Conduct inspections of Foreign flagged tankships that conduct commerce with the U.S.; Implement the Coast Guard's International Port Security Program. In addition, personnel conduct investigations into maritime casualties involving U.S. vessels and incidents involving Coast Guard documented and licensed Merchant Mariners.
