Over 800 students from the Temasek Junior College participated in a special U.S. Embassy speaker program on August 24 to learn about the preventive measures taken by the United States to curb global terrorism. Focusing on the critical diplomatic, informational, law enforcement, and economic elements of U.S. strategy for combating terrorism, American diplomat Christopher Kavanagh reiterated America's commitment to democracy and freedom. He discussed America's intense diplomatic engagement throughout the world that has contributed to the progress achieved in the global war on terrorism over the last few years. Mr. Kavanagh's dialogue gave Singaporean students an opportunity to hear a balanced U.S. perspective on issues of significant importance to both the United States and Singapore.
Temasek Junior College is an "American Connection" program partner that has in its library collection books on the U.S. and study guides to American universities.
